Awwww... So sorry to hear about that, Kaga. My cat Figment had a stroke several months ago. He has since recovered, thank God, but the thought of losing him was almost too much for me to bear. It was a real reality check for me. Since I live alone & away from my family, Figgy IS my family where I live. I feel you pain, buddy. best wishes on the new dog [img]smile.gif[/img]

I had to give up my best friend when we discovered that my daughter was allergic to him, so I kinda know how it feels.
I'm sorry Kaga. We had to put down a sweetheart of a West Highland White/Corgi mix.
She had been my mom's dog and then when my mom could no longer take care of her, she became our dog. Over the years though she had been taken care of at times by my sister's family too, so she really had become the 'Family dog' We had her about six months and one day she began vomiting, none of the vets could figure it out and they even did an exploritory surgery on her.
Poor little girl went through hell. We finally took her home and back to the original vet and said "will ya do the barium now??" (Should have been done in the beginning and sure enough they found a mass that had crushed her esophogus.
We just let her go to sleep at that point.
If the original vet had just done what we asked
in the beginning, she basically would have been prevented a whole lot of suffering before she left this world. We miss her every day, but on a very bright note we have a new Keeshond who is one of the most sweet, loving dogs I've ever known. So, as they say 'God never closes a door without opening a window.' May your new dog , while never replacing your former dog, bring you years of happiness . DP
